The challenge
The U.S. tariff landscape shifted dramatically in 2025. Section 301, Section 122, and IEEPA reciprocal tariffs compounded on top of each other, creating a duty environment that changed week to week. For Verkada, an AI hardware security company importing components across multiple countries of origin, the volume and velocity of new tariff actions made manual approaches to duty recovery impractical for any organization.
The solution
Verkada partnered with Pax to cut through the complexity. Pax processed tens of thousands of PDF pages of entry documentation, extracted the underlying data, and centralized everything into a single platform. The system automated import-to-export matching and provided direct access to a licensed customs broker, and established the ACE accounts and reporting infrastructure to file at scale — enabling Verkada to move at the pace the tariff landscape demanded.
The outcome
Verkada has recovered significant tariff refunds, with claims already flowing back from CBP. As the tariff environment continues to evolve, Verkada and Pax continue to work together to identify and act on new recovery opportunities.
